Judges chapter nine has been a confusing chapter for many bible students. Reverend Catania shows us many gems in this section of scripture. First he shows us that Jerubbaal is just another name for Gideon and the significance of Abimelech being a son of his concubine. He shows us that Eastern custom of a secondary wife. Then Reverend Catania shows how Gideon's will was that neither he nor his sons should be king. This makes Abimelech's ruse stand out as a bold face lie. Reverend Catania then shows us what the parable of the trees meant within the context of Jotham's curse on Abimelech. A fascinating study if you've even endeavored to understand this passage.
