In part one of this teaching we began to look at the subject of Ordination. We considered some of the many qualities that need to be present and active in the individual chosen for ordination.
We saw that Ephesians 4:12 set the purpose of the gift ministries to the church.
1 Corinthians 12:28a And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, …
We saw to serve as one ordained of God there are a number of things one must be.
This fourth aspect cannot be taken flippantly. It is God who call's men and woman into the ministry. Therefore you first allegiance must always be to him. All other loyalties must come after God or you will be guilty of idolatry.
Matthew 22:36-40 36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
1 Timothy 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Once you make the commitment to accept ordination there is no backing out you commit for life.
BBE Ecclesiastes 5:4 When you take an oath before God, put it quickly into effect, because he has no pleasure in the foolish; keep the oath you have taken.KJG Psalm 116:14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
I would like to continue in this issue of Chapter and Verse with the six attribute of a minister.
These qualities are the benchmark's of one ordained of God and there are many more.
Ordination is a call to serve, not to be served or worshiped.
The greater the responsibility the greater the sacrifice, the greater the sacrifice the greater the reward both now and in the future.
Luke 9:59-60 59And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. 60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
God calls men and woman when he needs them not when they can fit it into their schedule.
Luke 9:61 - 62 61And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. 62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
The ordained are to move ever forward with the integrity and accuracy of God's powerful and life giving word of deliverance.
One ordained of God is a man who manages his own household well and brings his children up to obey him and be well-behaved: He is honest even when it's uncomfortable.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
As one ordained of God your eyes must always be fixed on the hope.
Men may fail you, friends may desert you, family may abandon you but God will never leave or forsake you.
