Truth needs only to be taught. God's truth was given to us so we could live His word and pass on His truth to the next generation.
Deuteronomy 4: 9-10 9Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; 10Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.
As a parent it is your God given responsibility to teach your sons and daughters God's truth, His Word. Not some church perverted version of God's Word, but God's original heart and intent.
Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Today many Christian churches are presenting a watered down gospel. They are serving what I call gospel light: it tastes great, but it's less filling. What would be a modern day example of diminishing God's Word? Take the sin of homosexuality. There are many examples I will just give three.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination [a disgusting thing].NIV 1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders.
However, Calvin Theological Seminary Old Testament scholar, Marten H. Woudstra, says, 'there is nothing in the Old Testament that corresponds to homosexuality as we understand it today".
SMU New Testament scholar Victor Paul Furnish says, "There is no 'text on homosexual orientation in the Bible."
Robin Scroggs of Union Seminary says, "Biblical judgments against homosexuality are not relevant to today's debate. They should no longer be used ... not because the Bible is not authoritative, but simply because it does not address the issues involved. ..."
Now remember we are considering a modern day example of diminishing God's Word. Here is a good example of gospel light, taste great but it's less filling.
It sounds good and appealing to those who do not want to change. Homosexuality, lesbianism, and all other forms of sexual perversions is sin. When you see parades and T.V. shows that present "gay rights" these are nothing more than a deceptive, deliberate, calculated attempt by the devil using the media and people to replace God's Word with his agenda.
These so called pro gay parades, T.V. and radio shows are nothing more than a public celebration of sin. The people who take part in these devilish activities many of them through ignorance are challenging God and publicly rebelling before God. They willfully and publicly refuse to acknowledge his sovereignty, His word, and his son Jesus Christ as truth. They play on the emotions and tug on the heart strings of many well meaning people to rally them to their cause through deceit and lies. They compare themselves to the civil right movement and claim they were born that way. A black man or woman was born that way.
No matter what a black man or woman do they will always and forever remain black. The black population has claim to the civil rights movement with good cause. The Hispanic, Asian, Indian, and all others in a genetic community are entitled to the civil rights claim.
The homosexual and lesbian movement has tried to steal the rights that the blacks, Hispanics, Indians, etc, have fought for and deserve. They have exploited the pain and suffering that our minorities have endured and equated themselves with these minorities.
Let me explain how I am using the word minority. A smaller socially defined group: a group of people, within a society, whose members have different ethnic, racial, national, characteristics from the rest of society. The homosexual and lesbian community has tried to steal the rights that cost all affected by the civil right movement. They want to enjoy the benefits that took hundred of years and cost hundreds of thousands of lives with out lifting a finger. This is a well thought out plan built on a lie. In order to do this they must continue to speak lies until people begin to believe lies like, "sexual orientation is genetic".
A man born black is genetic. He can never change his color simply by saying I no longer want to be black. However, a homosexual or a lesbian can change their sexual orientation several times a week if they feel like it.
Why? Because sexual orientation is NOT genetic it's determined by choice. Now there can be many devilish factors that may come into play however it all comes down to choices. This is why a person can be delivered from this lifestyle if they choose to. This is also why a person can embrace this life style; it's all a matter of choice. This is why… when the homosexual and lesbian community plays the civil rights card they know exactly what they're doing. They want to tug at the heart strings of good people to support their cause through falsehood and treachery.
To compare the homosexual / lesbian claim to civil right is like saying, "I am entitled veterans rights and benefits because I am gay."
"I never haved served in any of the armed forces, I never payed the price or risking my life at any time, however I feel I have a right to these benefits because I am a solider in the gay war."
Unless we as parents instruct our children in the truth of God's wonderful word their generation will go deeper into captivity.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The Greek word used here translated know (know the truth) is ginosko. The word ginosko by a Hebraistic euphemism (cf. Winer's Grammar, 18), found also in Greek writings from the Alexandrian age down, ginw, skw is used of the carnal connection of male and female. In other words, the act of sex; through out the word you can see this illustrated.
Genesis 4:1a And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain…Genesis 4:17a And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch…1 Samuel 1:19-20 19And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her. 20Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.
Here we can see one usage of knowing someone biblically. The point is we are to know the truth not just an intellectual knowing of the truth but an experiential knowing of the truth.
A child is not conceived because two people have an intellectual knowledge of conception. A child is conceived only when two people have a experiential knowledge of conception.
This truth is further stated in the gospel of John.
John 7:16-17 16Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. 17If any man will do his will, he shall know (ginosko) of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
It's in the doing of the will of God that we get to prove and experience the doctrine of God… To be continued…ÿ
