In part one of this teaching we saw that there are many gods. However there is only one most high God.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6 5For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, 6But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

We saw that even before the Garden of Eden, and Adam and Eve, the most high God had a host of spirit beings who filled different positions in his kingdom.

Some of these spirit beings make up the council of the most high God. God's hierarchy is as old as time itself. Because of his great love and tenderness, the most high God has chosen to invite those spirit beings who support, love and obey the Father's will to function in different positions of authority and power in His kingdom.

This was also reflected in God's original government set up in the garden here on earth when God gave Adam power and authority to rule here on the earth. Now I'd like to look continue to look at God's fellow workers in the heavens that help the Most High oversee various parts of His creation.

God has placed particular kingdoms under the administration of angelic beings that are subject to Him.

13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. 14Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

The prince of Persia is an evil spirit that fights against the true God. He hinder this angel sent to Daniel. The command was given and a chief angel named Michael came to help him. From this verse we get a glimpse of spiritual warfare that is waged between the one true God and his angelic beings and the devil and his evil spirits. It's also interesting to note that angels have names. A name serves many purposes. A name is given by someone other than oneself, inferring the one who names someone is superior. A name can identify someone's rank, family, beliefs, position, and allegiance etc.

Thus angelic beings have attributes attached to their given names. Why name a spirit being or an angel if they do not answer and converse by that name? The point is that spirit beings interact in their spear of influence much like we do.

Isaiah 6:1-3 1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Here these spiritual beings are called Seraphims, each one is described as having 6 wings and pictured in the throne room of God.

Genesis 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

These spiritual beings are keepers of the door to the Garden of Eden to protect the way of the tree of life.

Genesis 19:1-8 1And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; 2And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. 3And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. 4But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

This record is very informative. First these angels were in human form when Lot first spotted them in verse 2. They ate a meal with Lot in verse 3. They spoke to Lot in his native tongue in verse 2.

Genesis 19:10-11 10But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 11And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

These angels manifested great power.

Genesis 19:12-13 12And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: 13For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

They were dispatched by the LORD and under orders to save Lot and destroy the city.

NIB Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

1 Kings 22:19-22 19And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. 20And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. 21And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. 22And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.

Here we have another record regarding the Lord sitting on his throne with both good and evil spirit beings present. The prophet Micaiah described this vision to Ahab king of Israel and Jehoshaphat. Again our loving heavenly father allowed us a glance of the workings of the unseen spiritual world.

Genesis 16:6-7 6But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. 7And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

Genesis 22:10-12 10And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. 12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

Exodus 3:1-2 1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. 2And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Judges 6:11-12 11And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. 12And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

These spirit beings make up the hierarchy of God, and are chosen by God to help oversee various parts of his creation. Sometimes they intervene in man's affairs from time to time.

Likewise Adan and Eve were chosen and empowered by God to oversee the earth.

God chose Moses when he called Israel as a people and nation. And Moses chose elders to help him over see the nation .

Exodus 18:19-22 19Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: 20And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. 21Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: 22And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.

God gave His son to oversee the church of grace and the kingdom to come.

Philippians 2:9-10 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Jesus chose his ministers to help oversee the church..

Ephesians 4:11-12 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

The hierarchy of God is not limited to heavenly beings just like Adam. Men and woman called by God today actively work with the most high God to help oversee his church.

There is a natural world and a spiritual world. These two work hand in hand, yet most people have very little knowledge of our wonderful God's angelic beings and their intervention and involvement on the earth. ÿ
