In 1158 Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed, part 3, Reverend Nick Catania continues a series on the birth of Jesus Christ. In this section we consider the Shepherds. They were the only people according to what the Bible teaches and according to what the Scriptures say that were there that night and experienced the birth of Jesus Christ. If you work these different gospels and historic accounts, you see that Joseph and Mary were going for Caesar Augustus's jubilee census in the fall of 3 BC. When the shepherds went and saw the child, they had to hurry to catch the swaddling ceremony. That was their sign. Nobility swaddle their children as part of a commitment to raise them to be truthful and just. It's not wrapping a child in rags like tradition teaches. The shepherds left rejoicing and they witnessed telling everybody about what they saw.
