Mission Statement
In the Old Testament times, God's people got enticed time and time again by idolatry and the worship of pagan gods. The culture was so wicked that paganism infiltrated even the temple and the priesthood.Eventually the kingdom split and later Judah was conquered by Babylon. In Jesus' time true believers were persecuted by the religious elite. This time it wasn't an issue of pagan idolatry as much as it was worship of Jewish tradition over the truth of God's Word. The net effect was similar, however. The nation of Israel was destroyed and Herod's temple was totally demolished in 70 AD.
In Christianity this was prevalent, too. The apostle Paul spoke of all the persecutions he endured, even from among his brothers.
2 Timothy 1:15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me;
2 Corinthians 11:22-23 22Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.
23Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
The bible promises that all who live godly in Christ shall suffer persecution as well.
2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Indeed, traditional Christianity is rife with idolatry, division, and persecution. The bible hasn't changed, but the forces that come against it have to change constantly because they are built on lies.
In our modern era, many churches pride themselves on being "woke", celebrating the LGBTQ movement, and adopting platforms such as Critical Race Theory. Socialism is idolatry; the religion of both fascism and communism. Marx and Lenin sought to get rid of Christianity and replace it with the government. You cannot mix socialism with Christianity. We should be good to the poor. We should help the less fortunate, but we don't overthrow small businesses and even other countries to enforce our will. Instead of being awake, these institutions are asleep spiritually.
Sin is sin. It isn't a bigger sin to commit homosexual acts than it is to commit adultery or lust.
Mark 7:21-23 21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Romans 10:33 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
We don't redefine stealing. We don't redefine murder. We don't redefine idolatry. Why are we redefining sin? You don't help anybody by contradicting the bible and saying sin is no longer sin. A cocaine addict needs to leave his or her drug of choice to become healthy and whole. A sexual addict needs help as well. Sinners need to repent; change their minds. Getting "married" is no solution. Getting delivered is.
There is only one race: the human race.
Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
We are all shades of brown in skin color (ranging from very pale to very dark and everything in between). We fought a war to end slavery over 250 years ago. Efforts to stir up racism whether it be the KKK or the CRT are equally wrong.
Enough about what we are not. What we are is a church that promotes God's word and welcomes individuals who seek the same. You may need help to overcome sin in some category of life. Everybody is challenged in some area of life. We need a reformation in our day and time. As the great protestant reformer Martin Luther said, "Sola scriptura": Only the word.
