In 1124 Nick Catania talks about Our Benevolent Father. The parables in Luke 15 demonstrate the compassion and love of God for a single sinner who repents. We look at the parable of the prodgial son and the forgiving father. Many times young people are anxious to live on their own and be free from the yoke of a parential authority. Likewise a son or daughter or God may want to be free of their heavenly father's rule. In this parable, the father didn't wait for the son. He took the first step of reconciliation. When God sees that a person is serious and honest, father God will take the first step. God sees the heart. God has great forgiveness, compassion, and forgiveness. It is He we honor this Father's Day.
